I wanted to devote a separate post to the drummers of the Reggio Regiment, as reconstructing them required a considerable amount of both research and practical work. First of all, I was able to recover a description of the Drum Major.
Unlike ordinary drummers, the Drum Major wore the officers’ uniform, while retaining the regimental colours, as in this case.
As for the drummers of the regular regiments, they wore a red livery with various blue and white decorations. In the Reggio Regiment, the buttons were gold, whereas in the Modena Regiment they were silver.
