As mentioned in a previous post, the Guard of the Duke of Modena also included a unit at company strength—therefore approximately 80–100 men—known as the Compagnia Carabinieiri a Piedi della Guadia di Palazzo (Foot Carabinieri Company of the Palace Guard). Alongside this company there was also another company of grenadiers.
Unlike the rank and file, their uniform was blue, with white cuffs and prominent lace decorations on the coat, the cuffs, and the pockets.
